We are a small group of 5-8 families, serving students in early elementary (1st-4th grades). We have a lot of littles too, so we are in the process of developing a “forest school” concept to give them enriching time out-of-doors during lesson time.
We meet in Alachua on the second & fourth Tuesdays of the month from 9:30am-1pm. On scheduled “field days” we have a shortened class time after which we meet-up at a local park for nature study and a picnic lunch. We also schedule a few “Rambles” during the year, as an option for families desiring more opportunities to explore the great outdoors with their children.
Some Subjects We Enjoy:
folksongs & folk dance, hymns, artist study, composer study, Shakespeare, poetry, recitation, Swedish drill, handicrafts, nature study, dry brush nature journaling…
